ArtPrize 2013!

This is my first year participating in ArtPrize. If you are unfamiliar with ArtPrize it is a show that basically takes over the downtown area of Grand Rapids, MI for 3 weeks. Artists submit work and venues choose them and curate their own shows.

My piece "powerless" is being show at the Fountain Street Church. The show there is themed "Art to Change the World: Inspiring Social Justice". The church is gorgeous and the show was probably my favorite of all I saw at ArtPrize so I am very proud to have been included.

Fashion Week

I am so excited for my (soon to be) brother-in-law who is working behind the scenes with MAC cosmetics for Fashion Week in New York this week! How amazing would that be?? I can't wait until he returns home so I can get all of the good fashion week gossip!

Hooray for the Powderhorn Park Art Fair!

I'll be with Workshop on Wheels performing a live metal pour for the Water Covers eARTh watershed project I've been working on during the Powderhorn Park Art Fair this year. Come check it out, there will be art, molten metal, and food venders. Do you really need more than that?

We will be at this event on Saturday August 3rd, aiming to pour metal at 12 and 2pm.

I was able to do some sketching on canvas while Eamonn painted in the studio yesterday. I'm really eager to see where my new project ends up.

Open Hothouse!

Hello friends in the virtual world!

 If anyone is in Minneapolis you should join us this Thursday at the Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center (CAFAC) for our second installment of the quarterly Open Hothouse!

I will be helping demo an Aluminum pour and there will also be demonstrations in Precious Metal Clay, and Flamework glass work! There will be refreshments and the center's Nokomis Gallery will be open for your viewing and purchasing pleasure.
